Certificate of Recognition

By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized bagnewsLife

WHEREAS, reduce, reuse and recycle help make responsible choices regarding waste reduction; and

WHEREAS, plastic bags use minimum resources to manufacturer, are reused around the house for a variety of purposes and are 100 percent recyclable; and

WHEREAS, plastic bags are manufactured and recycled in the Commonwealth by Virginia businesses and employees; and

WHEREAS, there is an effective infrastructure to recycle plastic bags through retailer take-back collection systems; and

WHEREAS, Keep Virginia Beautiful strives to be one of the leading organizations advocating for a clean and beautiful Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, Keep Virginia Beautiful along with the Virginia Retail Alliance, American Chemistry Council, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and the Virginia Recycling Association has created an educational campaign called “bagnewsLife” to encourage everyone to reduce, reuse and recycle plastic bags in a  responsible manner; and

WHEREAS, “bagnewsLife” educational campaign will be officially launched on November 15, 2010 in conjunction with Virginia Recycles Day; and

WHEREAS, Keep Virginia Beautiful is to be commended for organizing and heading “bagnewsLife” in an effort to help keep the Commonwealth clean and beautiful;

NOW THEREFORE, I, Robert F. McDonnell, do hereby recognize bagnewsLife in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens; and

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Lesser Seal of the Commonwealth of Virginia the 15th day of November 2010.
